Watters Creek Wins ICSC MAXI Award Honor

ICSC ANNOUNCES WINNERS IN ITS ANNUAL U.S. MAXI AWARDS

Watters Creek Recognized with Industry"s Highest Marketing Honor

In keeping with its tradition of recognizing and honoring the premier marketing, community outreach, sales promotion, and visual merchandizing efforts within the U.S. retail real estate industry, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) announced that Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm was awarded the industry"s highest marketing honor - a Gold U.S. MAXI Award.

Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm won its award in the Business-to-Business category which recognizes and honors marketing communications initiated by a shopping center and directed to other businesses (not consumers), such as retailers, specialty retailers, trade groups, investors, suppliers or other targeted commercial interests, using tactics which are designed to improve company profitability and brand identity rather than consumer, for its "From Facebook to Storefront" initiative. Prior to its impromptu meeting with Anthropologie, the marketing professionals at Watters Creek polled 6,000 customers through the use of a Facebook poll asking the question "Who wants Anthropologie at Watters Creek?" The poll generated enormous response and secured Anthropologie a storefront at Watters Creek. Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm is owned by Coventry II/Developers Diversified Realty and managed by Trademark Property Company.

Professional recognition for this award was given to the following marketing professionals: Kriste R. Klepper, CMD, marketing director and Cornell Holmes, senior general manager from Watters Creek; as well as Daniel Upton, senior vice president; Terry Montesi, founding partner/CEO, and Les Garrett, senior vice president-director of leasing, all from Trademark Property Company.

In addition, Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm is eligible to win ICSC"s Best-of-the-Best VIVA (Vision, Innovation, Value, and Achievement) Award. The ICSC Best-of-the-Best VIVA Awards recognize the shopping center industry"s most cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions and creative responses to market trends, throughout the world. These awards will be presented during RECon, ICSC"s annual convention, on May 23, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nev.

The 2011 ICSC U.S. MAXI Awards honor and recognize the premier marketing, community outreach, sales promotions and visual merchandizing programs undertaken solely with the U.S by U.S.-based retail real estate professionals and companies. These awards not only enhance and compliment the other industry regional award programs offered by ICSC but provide information and insight to the entire retail real estate industry on what it takes to achieve the highest level of recognition in marketing and specialty leasing within the U.S.
